On Friday, the Mustang girls took down Lowry High School from Winnemucca with a 55-20 score. September O’Crowley owned the floor, scoring 29 points, including 16 of Crane’s 19 first-quarter points. The Mustangs’ remaining points came from four each from Hannah Buermann, Lisa Otley, Rachael Pelroy, Emilee O’Toole and Liz Sampson and two apiece from Taylor Campbell, Brenda Otley and Brooke Nyman.
For the championship, the girls defeated McDermitt 32-20. The win was led by Lindy Steeves, who scored 12 points. L. Otley put in seven, Nyman hit for five, and Buermann and Pelroy made four points each. Buermann topped Crane rebounding, pulling down eight. The Mustang boys team earned the passage to the tournament championship by beating Lowry on Friday, 82-52.
Baxter Davies led the offensive game for the Mustangs, scoring 28 points. Cody. Henricks added 13 with Matt Stevens and Dallen Davies making 12 each and Jordan Conaway hitting for 11. Drew Cody made three, Royal Henricks scored two and Levi Crisp made one.
D. Davies kept the offense moving with 15 assists.
For the trophy on Saturday, Crane beat McDermitt 83-53. Crane had three players hit double-digits, with D. Davies scoring 26 points. He also had 10 steals and five assists. C. Henricks made 16 points and R.
Henricks made 10.
Also scoring for the Mustangs were Stevens with nine, Conaway with eight, Crisp hit for six, B. Davies made five and Cody scored three points. B. Davies ripped down 10 rebounds.
