Lonnie Alonzo Lavern Hovey died on June 21 in Salt Lake City, Utah.
He was born on June 30, 1939, to Mabel Edna Hall Hovey and Alonzo Thomas Hovey.
Hovey had five brothers and sisters — Ronald, Wayne, Landis, Maxine and Ellis Dean.
He served in the United States Army.
Hovey and his wife, Claire, raised seven children  — Donald, Brenda, David, Daniel, Russel, Raymond and Sarah. He also raised six step-children with his second wife, Grace.
A funeral service will be held in Salt Lake City the first week of July.
