Elizabeth M. Helfrecht, 95, of Pendleton died on May 25 at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton. 
She was born on May 1, 1914, in Rockford, Iowa to Charles and Maude (Holland) Draeger. She graduated from Rockford High School in Rockford, Iowa.
On Feb. 16, 1938, she married Ralph V. Helfrecht. They moved to Council, Idaho, in 1941, and then to Hines in 1946 with her husband working in the lumber industry. Helfrecht was a homemaker all her life.
In 2004, Helfrecht moved to Pendleton to be near her family. She resided at Oregon Trail Manor.
Helfrecht is survived by daughter, Marlene Essa and husband, Mike; son, Bob Helfrecht and wife, Debbie, all of Pendleton. She is also survived by seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Helfrecht was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; infant son, Charles; son, Roger; brother, Lawrence; and sister, Alice.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 27, at the Burns Cemetery. Contributions in Helfrecht’s memory may be made to the Harney County Senior Center, in care of Burns Mortuary of Pendleton, P.O. Box 489, Pendleton, OR 97801.
