Harney County Court meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Harney County Courthouse, 450 North Buena Vista, at 10 a.m.

Harney Partners for Kids and Families meets on the third Wednesday of each month at noon, at Glory Days Pizza. Lunch is provided, please RSVP to Michelle Bradach, president.

Harney Grant Babe Ruth board meets the third Wednesday of each month in the courthouse basement meeting room, 450 North Buena Vista, at 7 p.m.

Oregon Hunters Association is for all hunters, whether rifle, bow, shotgun, muzzle loader or other. The local chapter meets at Glory Days Pizza, the third Wednesday of each month at 6 p.m and is followed by a board meeting.

The Harney County Cattlewomen meet on the third Wednesday of each month at the Tax Office of Melodi Molt, 92 West Adams Street in Burns at 5:30 p.m. For more information, call Melodi at 541-573-1519.

Kick off the Harney County Library Summer Reading Challenge at 10:30 a.m. with a special program for all ages — Clown around with Silly Lilly. Pick up reading logs and start reading —  prizes awarded weekly. Contact the Harney County Library for more information at 541-573-6670.

Bring the babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library, each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Four Square Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

A Women’s AA meeting is held every Wednesday at noon at the Harney Behavioral Health Building.

The High Desert Fiddlers will host the 20th annual Country Music Jamboree June 17-20, at the Harney County Fairgrounds. The jamboree will include daily shows and workshops. For more information, call Janet Braymen at 541-573-1323.

Burns Planning Commission meets the third Thursday of each month at Burns City Hall, 242 South Broadway, at 7 p.m.

Harney County Historical Society meets the third Thursday of each month at the Elks Lodge, 118 North Broadway, at 11:45 a.m.

Living Well with Chronic Conditions will be held each Thursday through June 17, sponsored by Harney District Hospital. Learn how to successfully manage health conditions like asthma, diabetes, heart problems and others. Classes will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the Harney County Senior Center. High Desert Cutters will hold their annual Scholarship Cutting Show on Saturday, June 19, at 9 a.m. at the Harney County Fairgrounds. Sign up by 6 p.m. on Friday, June 18, if you wish to compete and be at the fairgrounds by 8 a.m. on Saturday.

Harney District Hospital is sponsoring a free, two-session Childbirth Education class on June 19 and June 26. Learn about prenatal care, the birth experience, breastfeeding and infant care. Charlie Walker, Country Christian Music in Concert, will be held on June 20. The free concert will be held at 10:45 a.m. at the Harney County Church of the Nazarene, 311 Roe Davis Ave., in Hines; and 6 p.m. at the Crane Fellowship in Crane. A potluck dinner will be held with the 6 p.m. concert.

Monday, June 21

The Harney County Kids Club will be open for summer session beginning June 21. The club will be open daily for your youth from 11 a.m. until 5 p.m. Lots of fun activities are planned. Your child must be a member of the club to participate. Call Carrie at 541-573-7036.

Masonic Lodge meets the first and third Monday of each month at the Burns Masonic Lodge, 1210 West Taylor, at 7 p.m.

HDH Sports & Physical Therapy will offer a free athletic injury clinic at that facility, 559 West Washington, every Monday from 5 to 6 p.m. A physical therapist will assess and treat athletic injuries and provide education for athletes and parents on self management of injuries. Overeaters Anonymous meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, at 5:15 p.m., at 341 N. Broadway Ave., in Burns.

Harney County Watershed Council meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the EOARC (Section 5) on Hwy. 205 in the conference room at 5:30 p.m.

A breast cancer support group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Harney District Hospital conference room, from 5:30-7 p.m. For more information, contact Sonni at 541-573-5750.

Hines Common Council meets at 7 p.m. at Hines City Hall.

Harney County Chamber Music Society Choir meets the second and fourth Tuesday, September-November and January-March. The choir meets in the Burns High School band room, from 7-8:30 p.m., with Marianne Andrews directing. Singers ages 13-up are welcome.

All 0 to 3-year-olds and their parents are welcome to attend play group at the Early Childhood Center at 655 W. Fillmore, weekly on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Patient Assist, Needy Med Program trained volunteers will be at the Harney County Senior Center each Tuesday, from 1-3 p.m. For any questions on Medicare A, B, C or D, or for appointments call the Senior Center at 541-573-6024.

Boy Scout Troop 440, sponsored by the Burns Lion’s Club, meets each Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the LDS Church in Hines. Boys ages 11-18 are welcome to join.
