The Hi-Desert Swim Team hosted the 25th Cascade East District Championship meet July 30- Aug. 1. Four members of the Hi-Desert Swim Team, (L-R) Matthew Riess, Taylor Klus, James Obradovich and Kalib Stallings, get set for the start. (Photo by LAUREN BROWN)

After a mere six weeks of training due to a delayed start to the season, the team was able to take a very respectable second place among teams  with as much as twice the pool time.

In addition, the team was awarded the Sportsmanship Award by a consensus of voters from around the district.

Nearly all the swimmers recorded season-best times in several or all their events, and many claimed district titles for their individual performances.

Taylor Crafts was awarded high point in the 11-12 age group for the 19 points she amassed for the team throughout the meet.

This meet drew to a close another successful season for the Hi-Desert Swim Team and set the stage for a great return next year.
