An initial Dementia Support Group will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 26, from 6 to 7 p.m. in The Aspens Conference Room. This group is for spouses, caregivers, family and loved ones of those with Dementia or Alzheimer’s Disease. Learn and share with others about dementia, managing symptoms and providing care. Attend this first meeting to offer suggestions for making the group helpful to you.This group co-sponsored by Harney District Hospital and The Aspens. Harney District Hospital will present “Nutrition Tuesday” on Oct. 26 from noon to 1 p.m. in the HDH Board Room. A screening of CNBC’s documentary “One Nation, Overweight” will be presented,  along with a discussion about America’s fight against unhealthy pounds. The workshop will be hosted by Amy Dobson, Harney District Hospital Dietary Supervisor. For more information, call Dobson at 541-573-8318.

Overeaters Anonymous meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, at 5 p.m. in the Harney District Hospital Annex (downstairs in cafeteria area). For more information, call Carol at 541-589-1272.

Harney County Watershed Council meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the EOARC (Section 5) on Hwy. 205 in the conference room at 5:30 p.m.

A breast cancer support group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Harney District Hospital conference room, from 5:30-7 p.m. For more information, contact Sonni at 541-573-5750.

Harney County Chamber Music Society Choir meets the second and fourth Tuesday, September-November and January-March. The choir meets in the Burns High School band room, from 7-8:30 p.m., with Marianne Andrews directing. Singers ages 13-up are welcome.

All 0 to 3-year-olds and their parents are welcome to attend play group at the Early Childhood Center at 655 W. Fillmore, weekly on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance Program (SHIBA) trained volunteers will be at the Harney County Senior Center each Tuesday, from 1-3 p.m. For more information, call the Senior Center at 541-573-6024.

Boy Scout Troop 440, sponsored by the Burns Lion’s Club, meets each Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the LDS Church in Hines. Boys ages 11-18 are welcome to join.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

ALANON a support group for friends and families of alcoholics, meets each Tuesday, from 4:30-5:30  p.m. at the Four Square Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns. Please use the north entrance. All interested are welcome.
