Patricia (Pat) Sneva died on Dec. 7 at her home.
She was born on May 2, 1929, in Fergus Falls, Minn., to Melvin Hysjulien and Marie Thompson Hysjulien.
Sneva graduated from Fergus Falls High School in 1947.
She married Forrest A. Sneva on Sept. 26, 1947, in the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Fergus Falls. About a year later, she and her husband moved to Logan, Utah, where he completed a degree in range management in 1952. In the spring of that year, the couple moved to Burns, where Sneva’s husband was employed by the government at the Squaw Butte Experiment Station. They have resided in Burns since then.
Sneva enjoyed doing counted cross-stitching and sewing. She especially liked making specialty items such as doll clothes and costumes for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and carried a good average for her team. She was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Burns.
Sneva and her husband enjoyed returning to Fergus Falls to stay at South Turtle Lake and visit family and friends.
Sneva is survived by her husband, Forrest Sneva of Burns; children, Pennie Hatlestad and husband Jerry of Harwood, N.D., Greg Sneva and wife Kathy of Redmond, and Gary Sneva of Tucson, Ariz.; sisters, Joyce Sha of Cold Spring, Minn., and Geneal Luebke of Morris, Minn.; brother, Milton Hysjulien; six grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother-in-law, Hank Sha.
A memorial service was held on Dec. 13, at Peace Lutheran Church. Contributions in Sneva’s memory may be made to the Peace Lutheran Church or the Harney County Hospice, in care of LaFollette’s Chapel, P.O. Box 488, Burns, OR 97720. LaFollette’s Chapel was in charge of the funeral arrangements.
