A Children’s Nutrition Workshop will be held on Dec. 28, from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Harney District Hospital Cafeteria. The workshop was created to improve child’s health through nutrition. Focus this month will be, “How Many Calories Does My Child Really Need,” — what is their estimated energy expenditure, how do they measure up on the growth chart and much more! Harney County Watershed Council meets the fourth Tuesday of each month at the EOARC (Section 5) on Hwy. 205 in the conference room at 5:30 p.m.
A breast cancer support group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Harney District Hospital conference room, from 5:30-7 p.m. Learn and share about breast cancer, ways to manage symptoms or treatment side effects and other valuable information. SHIBA volunteers will be available every Tuesday and Thursday at the Harney County Senior Center, through December, from 1-4 p.m., to help with Medicare D open enrollment. Those who have questions or need help with enrollment or to make plan comparisons are welcome to stop by. Appointments are preferred, but not necessary.
