Chester Ross Baker — 1951-2010

Chester Ross Baker died on Dec. 11 in Burns.

He was born on Sept. 13, 1951, in Burns to Chester and Elsie Baker.

Baker attended Hines Grade School and graduated from Burns Union High School. Following his graduation, he worked for Edward Hines Lumber Company, working his way up to being a sawyer. When his father died in 1981, he took over the running of his family ranch.

Baker enjoyed fishing, hunting and working on cars and tractors.

Baker is survived by his brother, Larry Baker of Tacoma, Wash.; sister, Louella Campo and husband Celestino of Burns; nieces, Lou Ann Deiter and husband Danny of Burns, Megan Deiter of Burns and Mariah Deiter of Bend; cousin, Bonnie Smith and husband Jack of rural Burns; and other family members.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Elsie Baker; and several aunts and uncles.

At his request, there will be no funeral services. A private family memorial service will be held at a later date.
