Harney County Americans For Prosperity & High Desert 9/12 Patriots will hold a joint meeting on March 2 at 6:30 p.m. at Glory Days Pizza. Harney County Court meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Harney County Courthouse, 450 North Buena Vista, at 10 a.m.

The Harney County Community Response Team (CRT) meets the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Community Center located at 484 N. Broadway. The CRT consists of anyone interested in what is going on in the county as it relates to business and industry. County, city and tribal leaders provide general information to the public regarding existing programs and recruitment efforts.

Storytime at Harney County Library is held each Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. For more information, call 541-573-6670.

Bring babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

Dr. Tom Fitzpatrick and the Mobile Health Clinic will be at the Drewsey Community Hall from 9 a.m. to noon and the Crane School Modular Annex from 1 to 4 p.m. Thursday, March 3. This is a full-service health clinic which comes to you. Appointments are encouraged to ensure adequate time, supplies and equipment for your appointment, but walk-ins are always welcome. Call Harney District Hospital Outpatient Scheduling at 541-573-8605 to schedule an appointment and bring your insurance information to assure proper billing.

Burns Butte Sportsmen’s Club meets the first Thursday of each month at the State Office Building, 809 West Jackson, at 7 p.m.

A concert to raise funds for the Burns High School Band’s Washington, D.C. trip will be held on March 4 at the Burns High School cafeteria at 7 p.m. Local musicians, as well as band students will perform. Tickets are available from band members.

A free community dinner will be held on Sunday, March 6, at the Episcopal/Lutheran Church from 5 to 6 p.m. The church is located at the corner of West “A” and North Diamond. For more information, call Gene at 541-573-2802.

The Valley Golf Club will hold a Pitch Tournament on March 6. Sign-up will begin at 9:30 a.m. and play will start  at 10 a.m. Bring your own partner. If you need a partner, call 541-573-6251 after 2 p.m. Sign up early. Lunch will be provided.

Discover how to contribute your knowledge of local history to the Oregon Encyclopedia at Harney County Library from 7 to 8:30 p.m. March 7. Editor-in-Chief, Bill Lang, will discuss how to write an entry for the encyclopedia and help identify topics that should be included. Library staff
will give an overview of the valuable historical resources available in the
Western Room. Free and open to the public.

Community PRIDE meets on the first Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the Pine Room. Everyone who has concerns for the betterment of the community of Harney County is invited.

The Burns Lions Club meets the first and third Monday of each month at noon at Figaro’s Pizza, for lunch. Those interested in serving the community are welcome.

Masonic Lodge meets the first  Monday of each month at the Burns Masonic Lodge, 1210 West Taylor, at 7 p.m.

A Shrove Tuesday Pancake Supper will be held at St. Andrew’s Episcopal/Peace Lutheran Church, on March 8, from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Cost is by donation only, with all proceeds to go to the 4-H Japanese Exchange Program.

Harney County Chamber Music Society Choir meets the second and fourth Tuesday, September-November and January-March. The choir meets in the Burns High School band room, from 7-8:30 p.m., with Marianne Andrews directing. Singers ages 13-up are welcome.

Harney County Fair Board meets the second Tuesday of each month in the Hibbard Building at the Harney County Fairgrounds at 7 p.m.

The Harney County Library Foundation Board of Directors meets on the second Tuesday of each month, at the library, at 5:30 p.m. The meetings are open to the public. For more information, call 541-573-7339.

The American Legion Auxiliary meets the second Tuesday of each month at 63 W. “C” Street, at 2 p.m.
The Burns/Hines District #3 Schools board of directors meets at the District Office, 550 North Court, the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Overeaters Anonymous meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, at 5 p.m. in the Harney District Hospital Annex (downstairs in cafeteria area). For more information, call Carol at 541-589-1272.

SHIBA and patient assistance will be held every Tuesday, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center. If immediate assistance is needed, call 541-573-6024 to contact a volunteer.
