The Harney County Library Summer Reading Program will be held at 10:30 a.m.  Llama, llama in the library! The local 4-H llama club will bring their animals to the Harney County Library for petting and pictures. Free and open to the public. For more information, call 541-573-6670.

Car Seat Friday is held the first Friday of every month from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Burns City Hall. Harney Safe Kids hosts the car seat fitting station. Parents and other caregivers are invited to drop by over the lunch hour to have their car seats checked for proper fit. Parents are encouraged to bring their children, so that a technician can ensure the best possible fit. Car seats and booster seats will be available for purchase also. Oregon Old Time Fiddlers, District 9, meets the first, third and fourth Friday of each month. Call Micky, 541-573-2515, for time and place.

A Community Fourth of July parade and free hot dog feed will be held for the first time in the Burns/Hines community. The event will be presented by the Desert Riders. Everyone is invited to decorate cars, trucks, motorcycles, trikes, horses, etc., for an old-fashioned Fourth of July parade. The annual Fourth of July fireworks display will be held the evening of the Fourth of July.

The Harney County Library will be closed on July 4.

Community PRIDE meets on the first Monday of every month at 5:30 p.m. at the Pine Room. Everyone who has concerns for the betterment of the community of Harney County is invited.

The Burns Lions Club meets the first and third Monday of each month at noon at Figaro’s Pizza for lunch. Those interested in serving the community are welcome.

Masonic Lodge meets the first  Monday of each month at the Burns Masonic Lodge, 1210 West Taylor, at 7 p.m.

Community PRIDE meets every Monday morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Pine Room banquet room. Those interested in the communities of Harney County are welcome to attend and participate in this forum for community involvement for community benefit.

Harney County Democratic Party meets the first Tuesday of each month at the Harney County Courthouse, 450 North Buena Vista, at 7 p.m.

A tent revival will be held at the First Pentecostal Church, 888 W. Tyler in Burns, June 22 through June 26. On Wednesday through Friday the revival will begin at 7 p.m., and on Saturday and Sunday it will begin at 6 p.m. A cook-out will be held each day, three hours before the meeting.

Harney County Health District board of directors meets the fourth Wednesday of each month in the board conference room of the hospital, in the entrance off North Grand, at 6 p.m.

Burns City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Burns City Hall, 242 South Broadway, at 6 p.m.
