Oregon Field Guide will be in Burns on Aug. 18, at the Harney County Community Center, from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. The free program will feature excerpts from the best episodes from the past 22 seasons of the award-winning weekly series on Oregon Public Broadcasting.

Burns Planning Commission meets the third Thursday of each month at Burns City Hall, 242 South Broadway, at 7 p.m.

Rimrock Recycling board meetings are held the first and third Thursday of every month at noon at 29903 Hotchkiss Lane.

Harney County Historical Society meets the third Thursday of each month at the Elks Lodge, 118 North Broadway, at 11:45 a.m.

Kiwanis Club of Burns-Hines meets for a no-host luncheon each Thursday at Glory Days Pizza, 690 Oregon Avenue, at noon.

Tai Chi for Better Balance with Diane Rapaport is held each Thursday at Harney County Senior and Community Services,  from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  — free.

Take Off Pounds Sensibly meets each Thursday at Hines City Hall, 101 East Barnes, at noon. Call 541-573-2896.

Narcotics Anonymous meets each Thursday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.
