The Kids Club will hold a cooking class with an AmeriCorp member and the Oregon Food Bank on Nov. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The class is free, but space is limited to 15 people, and anyone that attends must register at 541-573-7036. The class will not only cover cooking, but also grocery shopping and available food resources in Harney County, along other resources available to different income levels. Everyone will go home with a free bag of groceries. All the volunteers are from Ontario, including a chef. Child care will be provided at no charge at the club.
Pioneer Presbyterian Church will hold their annual Harvest Festival Dinner and Bazaar on Saturday, Nov. 5. The bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. A stew, bread, salad bar and pie dinner will be served from 4:30 to 7 p.m.Tickets are available from church members, Balloon Express, Gourmet & Gadgets or at the door.
Diabetes Support Group meets at the Harney County Health Building, 420 North Fairview, the first Saturday of each month at 2 p.m.
Narcotics Anonymous meets each Saturday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.
