Clayton Hurst King died on Oct. 31, after a courageous battle with cancer.
He was born on Feb. 24, 1934, near Kadoka, S.D.
King married Mary Colleen Hughes (Connie) on Dec. 27, 1958, in Fort Pierre, S.D. He farmed and ranched in South Dakota until he and his wife moved to Oregon, where they continued to ranch for the next 45 years.
King enjoyed his family, hunting, fishing and traveling. He was a director for the Harney Electric Cooperative for 20 years. He was a devoted husband and loving father and grandfather. He will be remembered as a good man and friend by those who knew him.
King is survived by his wife of 52 years, Connie; daughters, Carla and Katie and husband Jason; son, Matt and wife Lisa; grandchildren, Chad, Tara, Cody, Mackenzie and Jason, Jr.; brother, Richard King; sisters, Beverly and Margee; sister-in-law, Phillis King; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
