The Harney County Hospice Food and Wine Festival will be held on Nov. 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Burns Elks Lodge. The evening will include fine wine, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, cider, silent auction, door prizes and music by Jazz Light. AARP will offer a free driver safety program for veterans in Burns on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Harney County Health Department, 420 N. Fairview. Veterans will need to preregister and bring some form of military identification to present to the instructor. Registration is on a first-call basis, with a limit of 12. Non-veterans make take this call for the usual fee of $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-AARP members. For more information or to register, call Phyllis Commeree at 541-573-6405.
Burns Butte Sportsmen’s Club will have a Thanksgiving Fun and Games Turkey Shoot on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the trap range on Radar Hill. Practice will begin at 9:30 a.m. Games will start at 10 a.m. This is for all levels of shooters. Lunch will be available.
Narcotics Anonymous meets each Saturday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.
