The Harney County Farm Bureau’s monthly meeting will be held Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 5 p.m. in the basement meeting room of the Harney County courthouse. The public is welcome to attend.

The Oregon Department of State Lands will hold a public meeting Wednesday, Jan. 11, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. in the Harney County Community Center Conference Room, 484 N. Broadway in Burns. The meeting is designed to receive input into the draft Real Estate Asset Management Plan (REAMP).

The Harney County 4-H Leaders Association will meet Wednesday, Jan. 11, at 5 p.m. in the courthouse basement meeting room. Agenda items include upcoming leadership opportunities, fund-raising plans and 4-H registration. All 4-H leaders, junior leaders and parents are encouraged to attend.

The Harney County Cancer Support Group meets the second Wednesday of each month at Glory Days Pizza, on Highway 20 in Burns, at 4 p.m. For more information, call Tonny Calloway, evenings, at 541-573-7867.

Burns City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Burns City Hall, 242 South Broadway, at 6 p.m.

Bring babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

A free Heart Saver Class has been scheduled. Are you prepared to handle an emergency? Gain the confidence you need with the class sponsored by Harney District Hospital. Be confident in an emergency situation with comprehensive CPR, AED and basic First Aid training; upon completion, you will earn the American Heart Association Heart Saver First Aid/CPR card. The class is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 14, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Racine Building Conference Room. Monday, January 16

Harney County Library will be closed Monday, Jan. 16, for Martin Luther King Day.

Harney District Hospital will hold a free Physical Therapy Sports Injury Clinic Monday evening, Jan. 16. Students experiencing muscle or joint pain due to sports activities will be seen by a physical therapist to assess injuries and offer recommendations for treatment. To take advantage of this free clinic, call the Physical Therapy office at 541-573-1543 to schedule a time to be seen.

The Burns Lions Club meets every Monday at noon at the Burns Elks Lodge. Those interested in serving the community are welcome.

Communities PRIDE meets every Monday morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Pine Room banquet room. Those interested in the communities of Harney County are welcome to attend and participate in this forum for community involvement for community benefit.

The Harney County Fair Board has rescheduled their January meeting to Tuesday, Jan. 17, at 6 p.m. in the fair office at the fairgrounds.

The American Legion Harney County Post #63 meets at 63 West “C” St. the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Harney Basin Writers meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Harney County Library from 2-4 p.m. Writers of any age and writing style are encouraged to attend.

Harney County Watershed Council meets the third Tuesday of each month at the EOARC (Section 5) on Hwy. 205 in the conference room at 5:30 p.m.

Harney County Library Foundation meets the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

Sylvia Rebekah Lodge meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at the I.O.O.F. Hall, 348 North Broadway, at 6:30 p.m.
