The Crane Union High School winter sports teams received much-deserved post season recognition at the sports awards ceremony Thursday, March 22.

Athletic Director Chuck Steeves started things off by noting that both the dance and wrestling teams received Dairy Farmers of Oregon Academic awards. He then introduced the High Desert League Scholar-Athletes including Thomas O’Toole, Jacob Rothgeb, Bekah Titus, Hannah Steeves, Paige Landon, Elizabeth Davis, Eric Davies, Wilson Witzel, Tanner Titus, Dan O’Crowley, Levi Miller, Cassidy Corrigan and Zach Cody.

Steeves also announced Witzel had been awarded a $500 High Desert League scholarship.

Head coach of the girls basketball team Stub Travis then introduced the team and presented the awards. The special awards were voted on by the players, and the winners were: Most Improved — Rebekah Clark; Most

Inspirational — Morgan Corrigan; Most Outstanding — Paige Landon.

Travis also announced that Landon, Steeves and Cassidy Corrigan had been named to the All-League Second Team and M. Corrigan received Honorable Mention.

Head wrestling coach Dave Doman introduced his team and complimented each wrestler on their performance during the past season.

Receiving special awards: Most Improved — Austin Roath, Tanner Titus; Most Inspirational — Wyatt Clark; Most Outstanding — Zach Cody, Donald McDermond.

Head coach of the boys basketball team Mick Miller congratulated each of his players on an outstanding season and presented awards. Winning special awards were: Most Inspirational — Blaise Schulze; Most Improved —

Tyler Opie; Most Outstanding — Ryan Opie.

For the High Desert League, R. Opie was named Player of the Year, T. Opie and Cole Maupin were named to the

Dance team coach Debbie Titus introduced the dancers and thanked them for their hard work throughout the season.
