The Burns Hilanders and the Crane Mustangs begin the fall sports season this weekend, Aug. 31-Sept. 1.
On Friday, Aug. 31, the Burns football team will be hosting Grant Union in non-conference action at 7 p.m. at Corbett Memorial Field. This game is an OSAA endowment game. Cost to get in will be $6 for adults and $4 for students. Season passes will not be accepted. The proceeds from this event will be split between the host school and the OSAA Foundation.
The Burns varsity volleyball will take part in the Summit Jamboree in Bend on Friday, Aug. 31, starting at 10 a.m. The following day, the Hilander JV and varsity teams compete in the Hermiston Invitational. The matches start at 8 a.m.
The Burns cross country teams open their season on Friday, Aug. 31, by competing in the Vale Halftime Invitational.
The Crane football team starts their season with a game against Lowell at the Dufur Classic. The game will kick off at 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 1.
The Crane volleyball JV and varsity teams get their seasons under way on Friday, Aug. 31, when they host Grant Union at 2 p.m. On Saturday, Sept. 1, the Crane varsity team travels to John Day for the Grant Union Invitational. The tournament begins at 9 a.m.
