Mary (Mimy) Cecilia Woolridge, 86, died Aug. 29.
She was born Nov. 21, 1925.
Mimy held strong to her Burns roots for all her life, never forgetting all the family and friends that called this Eastern Oregon town home.
She always loved her children with a special unconditional love. Her friends were her friends forever.
Mimy’s sisters stayed close to Mimy until the very end. The girls, including their late sister, Elisa, were unusually devoted as sisters and never missed an opportunity to be together.
Mimy’s last days were surrounded with love, thanks to her family. These last days were made all the more special by the loving, caring women at Ashley Manor in Burns where Mimy lived with her sister Rosie.
In addition to the unconditional love she gave so freely, Mimy will always be remembered for her sense of adventure. From her horse, to her airplane flying lessons, to moving by herself to California at the age of 70, Mimy was one of a kind. Having no fear, she was full of self-confidence, and she always knew that life had a lot more to give her.
Mimy is survived by her children, Marquita Yriarte, Chris Yriarte and Tony Yriarte; granddaughter, Ann Michelle Yriarte; step-children, Kent, Scott, Wayne and Gretchen Wooldridge; sisters, Rosie Runnels and Jo Hagedorn; and nieces and nephews, Becky Glerup, Pam Glerup, Pete Runnels, Billy Runnels, Angie Tiller, Melanie Epping, Elisa and John Hagedorn, Gina Greco and Danny Ramirez.
A rosary was held Sept. 21 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Burns. The Mass of Christian burial took place at the church Sept. 22. Internment followed immediately after mass.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Holy Family Catholic Church in Mimy’s name.
