Virginia Weightman 1926-2012

Virginia Weightman of Pendleton died Sept. 20 at her home.

Virginia was born Oct. 10, 1926, to Dewalt and Quintella (Reed) Bonebrake in Tooele, Utah.  She was raised in Nevada City, Calif.

After graduating from high school, she attended two years at the University of Oregon in Eugene, where she was a member of the Alpha C Delta Sorority.

On Feb. 26, 1950, she married Charles H. Weightman at the First Christian Church in Eugene.  They moved to Oakridge in 1950 and lived there until 1978.  They then moved to Hines for 28 years and then moved to Pendleton where they had been for the last six years.

Virginia liked sewing, gardening and flowers.

Virginia is survived by her husband, Charles “Chuck;” daughter, Teresa Lynn Powell of Springfield; son, Richard Dewalt  Weightman of Coos Bay; brother, Dewalt  “Bud” Bonebrake of Walnut Creek, Calif.;  seven grandchildren; and  four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Steven, in 2007.

At her request, there will be no funeral. Arrangements are being handled by Pendleton Pioneer Chapel, Folsom-Bishop.
