A Hines resident lost his life in a single-vehicle semi-truck accident in Wyoming over the weekend.
Jay Winn, 36, the driver and sole occupant of an 18-wheeler that went off the road near Wilson in Wyoming Sunday, died after getting trapped in the cab of his truck.
According to Emma Breysse of the Jackson Hole News & Guide, the semi was heading east over the pass from Idaho towing a car crusher when the brakes overheated and the truck went off the road shortly before 5:30 p.m. The semi was owned by Great Basin Inc.
Winn leaves behind his wife, Ali, and five children — four sons and a daughter. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Hines at 11 a.m. with burial to follow at Happy Valley Cemetery in Diamond.
A Facebook page has been set up for donations to an auction to provide financial assistance to the family. The auction is scheduled to be held Friday, Oct. 5, through Sunday, Oct. 14. To find out more information, visit:
