Steven Edward McManus, 66, of Merrill died March 21 at his home in Merrill.
Steve was born May 2, 1946, in Ashland to Edward Grey McManus and Eva Christine (Moore) McManus.
Steve was raised in Burns, where he graduated from Burns Union High School in 1964. He then attended Central Oregon Community College and Northwest Christian College. He married Sherry Campbell on April 30, 1983, in Burns.
Steve was a life-long rancher. He loved working cattle, and devoted his life to improving the ranch properties he and his wife owned and developed in Burns, Lookout, Calif., Klamath Falls, Merrill and Lakeview. He had the natural ability to take raw land and develop it into productive working ranches.
His hobby of restoring classic cars and working in his shop with his old car buddies was his passion. His strong faith in God guided him in all he did throughout his life.
Steve is survived by his wife, Sherry of Merrill; son, Ryan of Boise, Idaho; brother, Martin (Debbie) of Burns; sister, Cami (Dave) Keeler of Klamath Falls; nephews, Ty Keeler, Andy (Sephora) Garatea and Scott (Tracy) McManus; niece, Lori (Vance) Wauden; great-nephew, Cole McManus; and great-nieces, Ashley, Christa and Kate.
A memorial service was held Sunday, March 24, in Klamath Falls.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Disabled Veterans Administration.
