Burns High School Senior Projects will be on display from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the high school gymnasium. The public is encouraged to attend.
 
Harney County Health District board of directors meets the fourth Wednesday of each month in the board conference room of the hospital, in the entrance off N. Grand, at 6 p.m.
 
Burns City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Burns City Hall, 242 S. Broadway, at 6 p.m.
 
Free cardio-kick classes for all fitness levels will be held every Wednesday evening in May from 5:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m. at Faith Baptist Church, 777 W. Saginaw in Hines.
 
Bring babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library, 80 W. “D” St., each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

Harney County Soil and Water Conservation District board of directors meets the fourth Thursday of each month at the USDA Service Center in Hines at 4:30 p.m. The public is welcome to attend.
 
Artists/Painters meet each Thursday at 1:30 p.m. until 4 p.m. at the Harney County Senior Center. Take along projects of all media and work in a good atmoshpere. Mary Lou will be there for projects if needed.
 
A Walking Class is held each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. indoors at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center.
 
Kiwanis Club of Burns-Hines meets for a no-host luncheon each Thursday at Bella Java, 314 N. Broadway Ave. in Burns, at noon.

Burns FFA plant sale will be held Friday, May 24, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the BHS greenhouse. The greenhouse is located on the north end of the campus behind the metal shop.  They have a great variety of annuals, perennials, vegetables, tomatoes and hanging baskets. Join Harney District Hospital and celebrate their emergency team with a barbecue and Open House on Friday, May 24, from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the EMS Department of Harney District Hospital. Big Bear Lodge is hosting a horseshoe tournament at 6 p.m. every Friday night. The winner of the tournament will take home 1/2 of the entry fees, with the other 1/2 going to a local charity chosen by the winner.

Harney District Hospital will hold a free Physical Therapy Sports Injury Clinic Monday evening May 27. Students experiencing muscle or joint pain due to sports activities will be seen by a physical therapist to assess injuries and offer recommendations for treatment. To take advantage of this free clinic, call the physical therapy office at 541-573-1543 to schedule a time to be seen. 
 
A Grief Support Group is held the second and fourth Monday of each month by Harney County Hospice and Rev. Jean Hurst during the day as well as the evening. For more information, call Harney County Hospice, 541-573-8360.
 
The Harney County Health Department is available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 S. Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.
 
Harney County Search and Rescue meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 7 p.m.
 
A Walking Class is held each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. indoors at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center.
 
The Burns Lions Club meets every Monday at noon at the Burns Elks Lodge. Those interested in serving the community are welcome.

Harney District Hospital and the Harney County Senior Center are sponsoring a six-class workshop series designed to make nutrition and activity a vital part of your lifestyle. The sixth and final session, ‘Physical Activity is Key to Living Well’ will be held from 10:30 a.m.  to 11:30 a.m. at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center Tuesday, May 28, and will teach you the importance of activity to your daily health. The Breast Cancer Support Group will meet Tuesday, May 28, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Harney District Hospital Conference Room. Tai Chi for Better Balance with Diane Rapaport is held each Tuesday at Harney County Senior and Community Services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. — free.
 
SHIBA and patient assistance is held every Tuesday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center. If immediate assistance is needed, call 541-573-6024 to contact a volunteer.
 
Boy Scouts meet each Tuesday at 7 p.m. at the LDS Church in Hines. All boys age 11 and above are welcome to participate.
