The Harney County Cultural Coalition will meet from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug.14, at the Harney County Library.  Board action items including public relations and use of media will be discussed. The public is welcome to attend.
 
Harney County Farm Bureau will be holding their monthly meeting at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, in the basement meeting room of the courthouse. Pizza and soda will be served.
 
The Cancer Support Group will meet on Wednesday, Aug. 14, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Hines City Hall meeting room. The Cancer Support Group is open to all cancer patients, survivors, family and support persons. Come learn and share about all types of cancer, ways to manage symptoms, treat side effects and make connections to help you navigate cancer care. Burns City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Burns City Hall, 242 S. Broadway, at 6 p.m.
 
A Recognizing & Reporting Child Abuse & Neglect class will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, at the CCR&R office, 503 S. Diamond. This class is required to become a Registered Family Child Care Provider. Class is free and open to the public. Call 541-573-3122 to register or for more information.
 
Burns Butte Sportmen’s Club hold their summer twilight practice sessions on Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. through the month of September.  There will be people there to help beginners. All levels of experience are welcome.
 
Bring babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library, 80 W. “D” St., each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

A Women’s AA meeting is held every Wednesday at noon at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.
 
Burns Elks Lodge, 118 N. Broadway, meets each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.
 
Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.
 
ALANON, a support group for friends and families of alcoholics, meets each Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns. Please use the back door on the south side of the building. All interested are welcome.
