American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive in the local area Sept. 18-20. The blood drive will be held at the Church of Latter-day Saints, 600 N. A Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect class will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the CCR&R office, 503 S. Diamond in Burns. Burns Butte Sportmen’s Club holds its summer twilight practice sessions on Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. through the month of September.  There will be people there to help beginners. All levels of experience are welcome.

Learn how to approach an emergency situation confidently with comprehensive Heart Saver First Aid/CPR/AED training with Harney District Hospital paramedic Greta Emang. The Harney County Health Department is available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 S. Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.

 
Harney County Search and Rescue meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 7 p.m.
