American Red Cross will be holding a blood drive in the local area Sept. 18-20. The blood drive will be held at the Church of Latter-day Saints, 600 N. Saginaw in Hines, Wednesday, Sept. 18, 1 p.m. to 6 p.m.; Thursday, Sept. 19, noon to 5 p.m.; and Friday, Sept. 20, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS, or go to redcrossblood.org.

 
Harney County Court meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Harney County Courthouse, 450 N. Buena Vista, at 10 a.m.

 
The Hilander Booster Club meets the third Wednesday of each month at noon at Glory Days Pizza.

 
Harney Partners for Kids and Families meets the third Wednesday of each month at noon at Glory Days Pizza. Lunch is provided; please RSVP to Carol Sawyer, president, 541-573-6886.

 
Harney Grant Babe Ruth board meets the third Wednesday of each month in the courthouse basement meeting room, 450 N. Buena Vista, at 7 p.m.

 
A Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect class will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 18, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the CCR&R office, 503 S. Diamond in Burns. This class is required to become a registered family child care provider. The class is free and open to the public. Call 541-573-3122 to register or for more information.

 
Burns Butte Sportmen’s Club holds its summer twilight practice sessions on Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. through the month of September.  There will be people there to help beginners. All levels of experience are welcome.

 
Bring babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library, 80 W. “D” St., each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

A Women’s AA meeting is held every Wednesday at noon at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.
Burns Elks Lodge, 118 N. Broadway, meets each Wednesday at 7:30 p.m.

 
Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

 
ALANON, a support group for friends and families of alcoholics, meets each Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns. Please use the back door on the south side of the building. All interested are welcome.
