Jim Hutchinson, 94, passed away Monday, Dec. 23, 2013, at Harney District Hospital.
Jim was born Jan. 5, 1919, in Burns. He was a World War II veteran, fighting for his country in the Pacific Theater during WWII. Receiving an honorable discharge, he returned to Burns and resided there for the rest of his life.
Jim was featured in the Range magazine, based out of Carson City, Nev. The article stated that Jim was one of the “real genuine cowboys,” and it told about his life very accurately. His doctor, just before he passed away, said he was the toughest 94-year-old he has ever met! He was one of the best, for sure, and well-liked by everyone.
He is survived by his wife, Ruthie; daughters, Vicky, Janice and Lynne; sons, Dale and Michael.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, Jan. 2, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church.
