Christian Malas Echevarria, 22, passed away Jan. 6, following an automobile accident.

 
Christian was born March 2, 1991, at Humboldt General Hospital in Winnemucca, Nev. He attended kindergarten in Winnemucca, and first through eighth grade at Paradise Valley Elementary School. He graduated from Lowry High School in 2009. He then attended Boise State University for a year before earning a degree in Business Technology from Eastern Idaho Technical College. While attending EI Tech, he received his EMT Certification, and subsequently joined the EMS team at Humboldt General Hospital. He participated in football, basketball, and excelled in track and field, winning state championships in the 200 meter dash and the long jump. He participated in 4H, FFA, and  rodeo. He loved anything outdoors, especially snowboarding and skateboarding.

 
He is survived by parents, Bryn and Gary Echevarria; sister, Alicia Echevarria; grandparents, Monte and Patricia Siegner; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe “Dooley” and Grace Echevarria.

 
Services are to be held in Paradise Valley  Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Paradise Valley New Building Fund, P.O. Box 55, Paradise Valley, NV 89426.
