Barbara Alice (Stinnette) Lofgren passed away Jan. 26  at Oakwood Country Place in McMinnville.

She was born in Cozad, Neb., Feb. 9, 1935. When she was 3, her folks moved to Corvallis, where she went to grade school and graduated from high school in 1953. She then attended Oregon State University until her marriage to Everett Byron Lofgren on Sept. 17, 1955.

She and her husband moved to Burns in 1975, and retired to McMinnville in 1995. She was an avid bowler, a member of the ESA sorority in Burns, and transcribed many oral history interviews for the Harney County Library. She followed her boys to many football, basketball, baseball and track events, and was an active member of the Hilander Booster Club.

She is survived by her husband, Everett; sons, Jeffrey (a major general in the Air Force) and his wife, Suzanne, and Eric (a battalion chief with the Gresham Fire Department) and his wife, Lisa; and five grandchildren. Her entire family spent the last week of her life with her.
