Wendy was born March 2, 1951, to Ray and Delores Withee in Burns.
Wendy grew up in a large family, with a sister and three brothers. She moved to Redmond as a young woman, and became involved in activities such as skeet shooting and softball. She enjoyed hosting family and friends, and loved homemaking.
Wendy married Robert “Bob” Novak in 1988, and they soon started a family. The joy of Wendy’s life were her two children, Marc and Kelly. Raising her children and making a home for her family were her greatest accomplishments. Wendy and Bob spent many hours supporting their children in their sports activities and hobbies. Christmas was Wendy’s favorite season, and for her, it started in October. Christmas music, baking, decorating and giving were all reflections of her generous nature and her desire to be with family and friends. She enjoyed time around her backyard pond with family and visitors, and she was happy when it was either decorated with flowers or Christmas lights. The smell of home-baked bread often filled her home, and she was always eager to host a family gathering.
Wendy was so many things to so many people — a dedicated wife, a caring mom, a team mom, a fishing partner, gambling cohort, a canning buddy, a confidant, a caretaker, a friend to laugh with, and a friend to cry with. Most of all, Wendy was the type of person who loved much, and shared her kindness and generosity with those she loved and cared for. Although her life was cut short, she has left her family and friends with wonderful memories.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Novak; son, Marc Novak; daughter, Kelly Novak; mother, Delores Withee; sister, Sandy Whitmore; brothers, Dan, Mike and Jim Withee; and many brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ray Withee.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 8, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Burns.
