The Harney County Cultural Coalition will meet from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday, Feb.12, at the Harney County Library. Items for discussion/action will include the review and revision of HCCC by-laws. The public is welcome to attend.

Burns City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Burns City Hall, 242 S. Broadway, at 6 p.m.

Harney County Farm Bureau will be having its monthly meeting Wednesday, Feb. 12, at 5 p.m. in the basement meeting room of the courthouse.  Pizza and soda will be served.

Living Well With Chronic Conditions Wednesday, Feb. 12, 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Harney County Veteran’s Clinic: Learn to successfully manage symptoms of chronic conditions like asthma, depression, diabetes, heart problems and others with the first class in this six-week series. The Cancer Support Group is open to all cancer patients, survivors, family and support persons. Come learn and share about all types of cancer, ways to manage symptoms, treat side effects and make connections to help you navigate cancer care.  The support group will meet on Wednesday, Feb. 12, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Hines City Hall meeting room.

Free cardio-kick classes are offered Wednesday evenings, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., at Faith Baptist Church. The classes are good for beginning to moderate workouts, and everyone is welcome. For more information call 541-573-7777.

Be a quitter…a tobacco quitter, that is! Join this support group to develop strategies to quit successfully and access all the resources available to help you. The support group will meet each Wednesday, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Harney District Hospital board annex conference room. Bring babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library, 80 W. D St., each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

ALANON, a support group for friends and families of alcoholics, meets each Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns. Please use the back door on the south side of the building. All interested are welcome.

Free income tax preparation and assistance is available for taxpayers age 60+ and low and middle-income taxpayers of any age through the AARP Tax-Aide program. Trained volunteers will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each Tuesday and Thursday, Feb. 4-April 15, at the Harney County School District No. 3 administrative office to prepare tax returns or assist with questions. All proceeds from the evening will be used to purchase a wireless fetal monitoring system for Harney District Hospital’s Obstetric Department. The American Legion Harney County Post #63 meets at 63 W. C Street the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Harney County Watershed Council meets the third Tuesday of each month at the EOARC (Section 5) on Hwy. 205 in the conference room at 5:30 p.m.

Sylvia Rebekah Lodge meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at the I.O.O.F. Hall, 348 N. Broadway, at 6:30 p.m.

The Chamber Orchestra meets the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Burns High School Band Room, 1100 Oregon Ave., from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. with Ken Peckham directing, September through November and January through March.
