The Grand Opening of the Harney County Library teen room, “The Hotspot,” will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Students in grades 6-12 are invited to celebrate with games, music and cake; register for the Teen Summer Reading Program; and receive a free T-shirt while supplies last.
Harney County Weed Board and Cooperative Weed Management will sponsor a free spray day on June 10 in the Burns High School parking lot. Premixed, ready-to-spray Speedzone will be given away on a first-come, first-served basis, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The mix can be applied to most weeds in yards and driveways, and it will not kill grass. John Nilsen in Concert will be presented in Burns on June 10 at 7 p.m. at Pioneer Presbyterian Church. Nilsen is a pianist, guitarist, songwriter and recording artist from West Linn.
