Harney County Health District board of directors meets the fourth Wednesday of each month in the board conference room of the hospital, in the entrance off North Grand, at 6 p.m.

Burns City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Burns City Hall, 242 South Broadway, at 6 p.m.

Burns Hines Liquor Store holds a free wine-tasting event the last Wednesday of each month, at 6 p.m.

Experience Japan at the Harney County Library summer reading program. Stories, crafts and origami start at 10:30 am.

Bring babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

Harney County Library is going to the dogs! Border Collie International rescue dogs will perform their amazing tricks at 10:30 a.m. Free and open to the public.

A Dementia Support Group, will be held on Wednesday, July 20, from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in The Aspens Conference Room. This group is for spouses, caregivers, family and loved ones of those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Learn and share about dementia, managing symptoms and providing care. A Harney County Community Garden work day will be held on July 23, beginning at 8 a.m. The garden is located at 550 N. Court in Burns, behind the school administration office. Everyone in the community is invited to come help weed, plant, harvest and help provide fresh produce to those in need in the community. Refreshments will be provided. The Great Basin Saddle Club will hold an open horse show on July 24 at the Harney County Fairgrounds. This will be a double-point show. Sign up will begin at 8 a.m. and the show will start at 9 a.m. with showmanship and English. Reining will start at 1 p.m., followed by Western.
