A car seat clinic will be held at the Erickson’s Thriftway Parking lot on Tuesday, Aug.16, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Parents, grandparents and other caregivers are invited to drop by during those hours to have their car seat checked for proper fit to the vehicle and for the child. Technicians will be on hand to answer car seat questions and to demonstrate proper seat installation. Car seats will also be available for purchase. The American Legion Harney County Post #63 meets at 63 West “C” Street the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Harney Basin Writers meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Harney County Libary from 2-4 p.m. Writers of any age and writing style are encouraged to attend.

Harney County Watershed Council meets the third Tuesday of each month at the EOARC (Section 5) on Hwy. 205 in the conference room at 5:30 p.m.

Sylvia Rebekah Lodge meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at the I.O.O.F. Hall, 348 North Broadway, at 6:30 p.m.

Tai Chi for Better Balance with Diane Rapaport is held each Tuesday at Harney County Senior and Community Services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.  — free.
