A spaghetti feed and silent auction fund raiser for Shyanne Petersen’s trip to Canada with the People to Peole program this summer will be held Friday, March 1, from 5 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Burns Elk’s Lodge. Advance tickets are available by calling Susan at 541-589-10045.
A Bird-Song Fest will be held Friday, March 1, at Showtime Bar and Grill, on North Broadway Ave. in Burns. The event, which will be part old-fashioned sing-along and part karaoke and will celebrate songs about birds or with the names of birds in them, starts at 6 p.m., and kids can sing-along until 8 p.m. There is no set end time, and there will be no cover charge. Proceeds from this fund raiser will benefit the Harney County Writer-in-Residence Program’s March workshops with screenwriter / director Micki Selvitella.
