Teen Summer Reading Program, for grades 6-12, meets every Friday night from 7 to 8 p.m. at the Harney County Library. On Friday, July 11, the featured topic will be plants and bugs.
A fundraising spaghetti dinner will be held from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, July 11, at the Burns Paiute Gathering Center. Bingo will follow from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. All proceeds will go toward travel expenses to attend a Language Conference.
A community-wide yard sale/flea market will be held July 11-13 in Hines and Burns. Participants can register their sales with Hines City Hall to be listed on free maps that will be distributed. Space is also available to reserve in Hines Park. Community groups, clubs, and vendors are encouraged to participate. A recovery group, “Celebrate Recovery,” meets each Friday at the Harney County Church of the Nazarene, 311 Roe Davis Ave. in Hines.
