The Burns High School band fundraising tri-tip dinner-to-go will be held Wednesday, Nov. 19. Tickets are available from band members, at Gourmet and Gadgets, or by calling 541-572-6059.

The Hilander Booster Club meets the third Wednesday of each month at noon at Glory Days Pizza.

Harney Grant Babe Ruth board meets the third Wednesday of each month in the courthouse basement meeting room, 450 N. Buena Vista, at 7 p.m.

Burns Elks Lodge, 118 N. Broadway, meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at 7:30 p.m.

Christmas Cookie Prevention, a women’s fitness group will be held Wednesdays, through Dec 17 at Faith Baptist Church, 777 Saginaw in Hines. A beginners fitness class will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and a moderate intensity class from 6:05 p.m. to 6:25 p.m. The classes are free and everyone is welcome. Burns Butte Sportsmen’s Club invites everyone to their Turkey Shoot Saturday, Nov. 22, at the trap range on Radar Hill. It will be a fun and games shoot for all levels of shooters. Practice starts at 9:30 a.m., with games to follow. Lunch will be available.

An AARP Driver Safety Class will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 22, at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center. This is a nationwide, DMV accredited, defensive driver program. The class focuses on driving safely within current DMV laws recognizing and compensating for naturally occurring age-related changes. A Grief Support Group is held the second and fourth Monday of each month by Harney County Hospice and Rev. Jean Hurst during the day as well as the evening. For more information, call Harney County Hospice, 541-573-8360.

The Harney County Health Department is available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 S. Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.

Harney County Search and Rescue meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 7 p.m.

A Walking Class is held each Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from  10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. indoors at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center.

Burns Fire Dept. meets each Monday at the Burns Fire Hall at 7 p.m.

Burns City Council will hold a meeting for public input to determine ”time, place and manner” for the medical marijuana dispensary at 6 p.m. at city hall. The city council will hold a regular meeting just once in November and December because of the holidays. The meetings will be held at 6 p.m. Nov. 19 and Dec. 17.

The city of Burns Public Safety Committee meets the second Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. at the Burns Fire Hall.

The Harney County Cultural Coalition will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12, at the Harney County Library. Among topics of discussion is the awarding of the annual grants funded by the Oregon Cultural Trust.

The Harney County Restoration Collaborative (HCRC) will hold a meeting and a tour on Friday, Nov. 14, beginning at 10 a.m. at the Pine Room in Burns. Lunch will be provided by the High Desert Partnership at 11:30 a.m. A tour to the Dove Project site will begin at 12:30 p.m., weather permitting.
