Bicycle Saturdays in Harney County. Saturday, Aug. 22: Double loop ride. Circle Foley Road, then the airport loop for a total of about 18 miles, or do just one loop. Flat paved roads. Meet at Hines Park at 9 a.m.

A Grief Support Group is held the second and fourth Monday of each month by Harney County Hospice and Rev. Jean Hurst during the day as well as the evening. For more information, call Harney County Hospice, 541-573-8360.

Harney County Search and Rescue meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 7 p.m.

Hines Common Council meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Hines City Hall, 101 E. Barnes, at 6:30 p.m.

The Breast Cancer Support Group will meet from 5:30 p.m. until 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, in the Harney District Hospital conference room. Learn and share about breast cancer, ways to manage symptoms or treatment side effects, and other valuable information. Senior Health Insurance Benefits Assistance Program (SHIBA) trained volunteers will be at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center, 17 S. Alder, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. each Tuesday to help with Medicare insurance needs or medications you cannot afford.

Wednesday Aug. 12

Burns City Council meets the second and fourth Wednesday of each month at Burns City Hall, 242 S. Broadway, at 6 p.m.

The Harney County Cultural Coalition will meet at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 12, at the Harney County Library. Topics to be discussed include gearing up for the next annual grant cycle. The public is invited to attend.

The city of Burns Public Safety Committee meets the second Wednesday of each month at 3 p.m. at the Burns Fire Hall.

The Cancer Support Group will be meeting on Wednesday, Aug. 12, at 5:30 p.m. in the Hines City Hall meeting room. The Cancer Support Group is open to all cancer patients, survivors, family and support persons. Come learn and share about all types of cancer, ways to manage symptoms, treat side effects and make connections to help you navigate cancer care. Burns Butte Sportsmens Club will be having Twilight Trap Practice Wednesday evenings from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. every week now through September at the range on Radar Hill. All levels of shooters are welcome, and instruction will be available for beginners.
