Harney County Amateur Radio Field Day will be held at the Harney County Courthouse from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call 541-493-2213.

Harney District Hospital will hold the second session of their free Childbirth Education class on June 26, in the HDH Board Conference Room, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Learn about prenatal care, the birth experience, breastfeeding and infant care. Burns High School class of 1990 will hold a reunion at the Valley Golf Club on June 26, at 6 p.m.

A Worship Arts Festival is planned for Saturday, June 26, from 10 a.m. to noon at the West Bank Christian Fellowship, 211 West Barnes, Hines. The theme is “Scattering Seeds of Praise for a Harvest of Joy.” Redge and Lynda Harding of Eugene will be the worship leaders. Prayer and intercession and any form of Biblical worship is encouraged; dancers are welcomed to bring tambourines and banners. Tables will be set up for artists to paint. The High Desert Saddle Club will hold a 4-H and open horse show on June 27, at the Harney County Fairgrounds. Sign up begins at 9 a.m. The show will start at 10 a.m. with showmanship, followed by English, reining and western. For more information or to enter, call 541-589-1519.

Monday, June 28

Harney District Hospital will hold a free Physical Therapy Sports Injury Clinic on June 28. Students experiencing muscle or joint pain due to sports activities will be seen by a physical therapist who will assess injuries and offer recommendations for treatment. High Desert Medical Center’s Dr. Holland Haynie will also be available. To take advantage of this free clinic, call the Physical Therapy office at 541-573-1543 to schedule a time to be seen.

The Harney County Health Department will be available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 South Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1-3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.

Harney County Library Advisory Board meets the last Monday of each month (except for those dates that fall on national holidays) in the library, 80 West D St., at 6 p.m. Anyone interested in becoming more involved in the library is invited to attend; one position is open. Harney County Search and Rescue meets the last Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building, at 7 p.m.

Order of Eastern Star meets the second and fourth Monday of each month at the Burns Masonic Hall, 1210 West Taylor, at 7:30 p.m.

HDH Sports & Physical Therapy will offer a free athletic injury clinic at that facility, 559 West Washington, every Monday from 5 to 6 p.m. A physical therapist will assess and treat athletic injuries and provide education for athletes and parents on self management of injuries. All 0 to 3-year-olds and their parents are welcome to attend play group at the Early Childhood Center at 655 W. Fillmore, weekly on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Patient Assist, Needy Med Program trained volunteers will be at the Harney County Senior Center each Tuesday, from 1-3 p.m. For any questions on Medicare A, B, C or D, or for appointments call the Senior Center at 541-573-6024.

Boy Scout Troop 440, sponsored by the Burns Lion’s Club, meets each Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the LDS Church in Hines. Boys ages 11-18 are welcome to join.

High Desert Cutters will hold their annual Scholarship Cutting Show on Saturday, June 19, at 9 a.m. at the Harney County Fairgrounds.
