The Howard Otley Pitch Tournament will be held at the Burns Elks Lodge on Jan. 23. Registration will be from 9 to 9:45 a.m., and the tournament will begin at 10 a.m.

The citizens of Harney County are invited to bring their hearts and minds to a free forum at the Harney County Senior Center on Monday, Jan. 24 from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and again on Monday, Jan. 31, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. The forum will offer an opportunity for citizens to join together to build the community. A Children’s Nutrition Workshop will be held on Monday, Jan. 24, from 6-7 p.m. in the Harney District Hospital Board Room. The hospital sponsored workshop is designed to improve children’s health through nutrition. This month’s topic will be on food refusal, allergies and more. The Harney County Health Department will be available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 South Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1-3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.

The Breast Cancer Support Group will meet Tuesday, Jan.  25, at 5:30 p.m. in the Harney District Hospital Conference Room. Learn and share about breast cancer, ways to manage symptoms or treatment side effects, and other valuable information. Overeaters Anonymous meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month, at 5 p.m. in the Harney District Hospital Annex (downstairs in cafeteria area). For more information, call Carol at 541-589-1272.

Harney County Chamber Music Society Choir meets the second and fourth Tuesday, September-November and January-March. The choir meets in the Burns High School band room, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with Marianne Andrews directing. Singers ages 13-up are welcome.

SHIBA and patient assistance will be held every Tuesday, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center. If immediate assistance is needed, call 541-573-6024 to contact a volunteer.

A Dementia Support Group, will meet on Tuesday, , from 6 to 7 p.m. in The Aspens Conference Room.
