The Harney County Health Department will be available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 South Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.

Harney County Search and Rescue meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 7 p.m.

Communities PRIDE meets every Monday morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Pine Room banquet room. Those interested in the communities of Harney County are welcome to attend and participate in this forum for community involvement for community benefit.

Narcotics Anonymous meets each Monday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

A breast cancer support group meets the fourth Tuesday of each month in the Harney District Hospital conference room from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Learn and share about breast cancer, ways to manage symptoms or treatment side effects and other valuable information. The Burns Paiute Reservation Day Powwow will be held on Oct. 15, at the Harney County Fairgrounds Memorial Building. Grand entries will be held at 1 p.m. and 7 p.m.

Burns Butte Sportsman’s Club will hold a Fall Harvest Merchandise Fun and Games Trap Shoot on Saturday, Oct. 15. Practice will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 10 a.m. Shooting will start at 10 a.m. at the trap range on Radar Hill. All levels of shooters are welcome. Lunch will be available.

The Farmers Market is held each Saturday at Hines Park from 7:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
