An Arts and Crafts Fair will be held at the Denio Community Hall on Sunday, Nov. 27, from 10 a .m. to 3 p.m. Items offered for sale will include Christmas ornaments, photography, gourd art, hand-tied fishing flies, hand-sewn items, handmade cards, wild rags, western collage, birdhouses, jewelry, quilts, pottery, marbled paper, cookbooks, opals and much more. There will also be a used book sale. A recovery group, “Celebrate Recovery,” meets each Sunday at the Harney County Church of The Nazarene, 311 Roe Davis Ave., in Hines. The Harney County Health Department will be available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 South Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1-3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.

Harney County Search and Rescue meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 7 p.m.

The Burns Lions Club meets every Monday at noon at the Burns Elks Lodge. Those interested in serving the community are welcome
Communities PRIDE meets every Monday morning from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Pine Room banquet room. Those interested in the communities of Harney County are welcome to attend and participate in this forum for community involvement for community benefit.

Harney Grant Babe Ruth board meets the third Wednesday of each month in the courthouse basement meeting room, 450 North Buena Vista, at 7 p.m.

In 1843, John C. Frémont traveled through Oregon. Photographer Loren Irving spent nearly a year photographing all 31 of Frémont’s campsites in Oregon. He will share this tale at the Harney County Library on Nov. 17, at 6:30 p.m.

The Harney County Senior Center Christmaas bazaar will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Nov. 19. For more information, call 541-573-6024.

The Harney County Hospice Food and Wine Festival will be held on Nov. 19, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.  at the Burns Elks Lodge. The evening will include fine wine, hors d’oeuvres, desserts, cider, silent auction, door prizes and music by Jazz Light. AARP will offer a free driver safety program for veterans in Burns on Saturday, Nov. 19, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., at the Harney County Health Department, 420 N. Fairview. Veterans will need to preregister and bring some form of military identification to present to the instructor. Registration is on a first-call basis, with a limit of 12. Non-veterans make take this call for the usual fee of $12 for AARP members and $14 for non-AARP members. For more information or to register, call Phyllis Commeree at 541-573-6405.

Burns Butte Sportsmen’s Club will have a Thanksgiving Fun and Games Turkey Shoot on Saturday, Nov. 19, at the trap range on Radar Hill. Practice will begin at 9:30 a.m. Games will start at 10 a.m. This is for all levels of shooters. Lunch will be available.

Crane Fellowship will hold a community open house and Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday, Nov. 20, on the corner of Crane Venator Lane and Main Street in Crane.
