Harney District Hospital will hold a free Physical Therapy Sports Injury Clinic Monday evening, Jan. 30. Students experiencing muscle or joint pain due to sports activities will be seen by a physical therapist to assess injuries and offer recommendations for treatment. To take advantage of this free clinic, call the Physical Therapy office at 541-573-1543 to schedule a time to be seen.

Harney County Library Advisory Board meets the last Monday of each month (except for those dates that fall on national holidays) in the library, 80 West D St., at 6 p.m. The public is welcome to attend. Use the back door to the left. For more information, call 541-573-7339.

The Burns Lions Club meets every Monday at noon at the Burns Elks Lodge. Those interested in serving the community are welcome.

Parr Lumber will be hosting a chili feed from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 19, with all proceeds going toward the purchase of a new ambulance for Harney District Hospital.

A nutrition workshop will be held Thursday, Jan. 19, from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Harney County Library, 80 West D Street in Burns. This free “New Year, New You” workshop is being sponsored by Harney District Hospital and the Harney County Library. Learn about goal-setting, nutrient needs and getting motivated for change in 2012. The Harney County Health Department will be available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 South Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1-3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.

Harney County Search and Rescue meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 7 p.m.
