An old-fashioned family picnic in the park fund raiser for Regina Nobel will be held Saturday, July 28, at Hines Park beginning at noon. There will be a barbecue, dance, watermelon stand, pie bake-off and many games and vendors. A spaghetti feed and silent auction fund raiser for Ty Estrada will be held Saturday, July 28, from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Burns Elk’s Lodge. The fund raiser is being held to help with medical expenses for emergency knee surgery. Estrada is laid off and has no insurance.

The last day to turn in reading minutes for the Harney County Library summer reading program is Saturday, July 28. Call 541-573-6670 or email kids@harneycountylibrary.org if you can’t make it into the library. Prize winners will be posted July 31.

Farmer’s Market is held each Saturday throughout the summer from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Hines Park.

The Harney County Health Department is available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 S. Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.

Harney County Search and Rescue meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 7 p.m.
