An Easter egg hunt will be held Saturday, March 30, for ages 0-8 at 10 a.m. at Hines Park. The Easter Bunny will also make an appearance. The Easter egg hunt is sponsored by Zeta Sigma sorority.

SWAN Day will be held at Harney County Library Saturday, March 30, from  noon until 4 p.m. Celebrate and visit with women artists of Harney County. Refreshments will be served.

A Harney Basin Groundwater public meeting will be held Saturday, March 30, at 1 p.m., 3 p.m., 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. in the Harney County Chamber of Commerce meeting room in Burns. Alcoholics Anonymous meets each Sunday at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns, for 12X12 study at 7 p.m.

Studded tires must be removed by Sunday, March 31. Given the current weather forecasts, Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) does not plan to extend the Oregon studded tire season. ODOT encourages you not to wait until the deadline if you aren’t driving in snow between now and then.

“Vegetable Gardening” with Gail Langellotto, a Harney County Master Gardener course, will be held Thursday, March 21, and will include instruction on planning your garden, soils and bed preparation, and abiotic and biotic problems. A community information session presented by the Harney County Health Department with the goal of presenting results from county arsenic testing as well as answering questions, addressing concerns and providing information about arsenic, will be held Thursday, March 21, at the Harney County Senior & Community Services Center at 5 p.m.

The March Trap Shoot will be hosted by Burns Butte Sportsmen’s Club Saturday, March 23, at the trap range on Radar Hill. Practice will begin at 9:30 a.m., with games to follow at 10 a.m. All levels of shooters are welcome. Lunch and beverages will be available.

The Harney County Health Department is available at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 S. Alder, to check blood pressure the fourth Monday of each month from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. There is no charge for the clinic and results can be forwarded to a physician or nurse practitioner at your request.

Harney County Search and Rescue meets the fourth Monday of each month at the Search and Rescue Building at 7 p.m.
