Masonic Lodge meets the first and third Monday of each month at the Burns Masonic Lodge, 1210 West Taylor, at 7 p.m.

HDH Sports & Physical Therapy will offer a free athletic injury clinic at that facility, 559 West Washington, every Monday from 5 to 6 p.m. A physical therapist will assess and treat athletic injuries and provide education for athletes and parents on self management of injuries. Burns Fire Dept. meets each Monday at the Burns Fire Hall at 7 p.m.

The Hines Volunteer Fire Department meets at the Hines Fire Hall each Monday at 7 p.m. (except the last Monday of the month). Prospective members may contact Fire Chief Bob Spence at 541-573-7477 or 541-573-2251.

Narcotics Anonymous meets each Monday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

The Burns Lions Club meets each Monday at noon at the Burns Elks Lodge, 118 N. Broadway, for lunch. Those interested in serving the community are welcome.

Harney District Hospital is sponsoring “Emotional Eating,” an informative workshop that focuses on identifying your eating lifestyle patterns and goals to overcome them, on Tuesday, March 16, from 5 to 6 p.m. in the HDH Board Room. The workshop will be co-hosted by Amy Dobson, Harney District Hospital Dietary Supervisor and Christy Davis, Harney Behavioral Health Counselor. For more details, call 541-573-8318.

The Chamber Orchestra meets the first and third Tuesday of each month in the Burns High School band room, 1100 Oregon Avenue, from 7-8:30 p.m. with Liz Taylor directing.

All 0 to 3-year-olds and their parents are welcome to attend play group at the Early Childhood Center at 655 W. Fillmore, weekly on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Patient Assist, Needy Med Program trained volunteers will be at the Harney County Senior Center each Tuesday, from 1-3 p.m. For any questions on Medicare A, B, C or D, or for appointments call the Senior Center at 541-573-6024.

Boy Scout Troop 440, sponsored by the Burns Lion’s Club, meets each Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the LDS Church in Hines. Boys ages 11-18 are welcome to join.

A public meeting to continue discussing the juniper cutting project in the Frenchglen area is set for Wednesday, March 3, at 3:30 p.m. at the Frenchglen School Gymnasium.

Steens Back Country Horsemen will meet at 6 p.m. March 3, at the Harney County Library. Agenda items includes election of officers, selecting volunteer trail maintenance projects and scheduling club rides for the upcoming year. Back Country Horsemen of America is a nationwide organization with members in 47 states. It is a service and advocacy organization, working to protect the rights of recreational stock use in the back country. Anyone interested in preserving trails and stockmen’s access to public lands is welcome to attend. For more information, call John  O’Connor at 541-678-3502.

A Merchant’s Meeting will be held on March 4 at 8 a.m. in the Community Center. Topics to be discussed will include Mother’s Day, Trail of Hope and the John Scharff Migratory Bird Festival.

Dr. Tom Fitzpatrick and the Mobile Health Clinic, sponsored by Harney District Hospital, will be in Drewsey and Crane on March 4. They will be located in the Drewsey Community Hall from 9 a.m. to noon, and the Crane Modular Annex from 1 to 4 p.m. This is a full-service health clinic which comes to you. Appointments are encouraged to ensure adequate time, supplies and equipment for your appointment, but walk-ins are always welcome. Burns Butte Sportsmen’s Club meets the first Thursday of each month at the State Office Building, 809 West Jackson, at 7 p.m.

Tai Chi is held every Thursday at the Harney County Senior and Community Services Center, from 9:30-10:30 a.m. All ages are welcome to participate.

Kiwanis Club of Burns-Hines meets for a no-host luncheon each Thursday at Glory Days Pizza, 690 Oregon Ave., at noon. Melanie Thomas will be the guest speaker on March 4. Thomas is a registered nurse at Harney District Hospital.  She will be talking about her most recent trip to do medical care in Haiti. The public is welcome to attend .

An All-American Boxing Club Show has been rescheduled for March 6 at the Old Camp Casino. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with bouts to start at 7:30 p.m.

Burns Butte Sportsman Club will host a March Mystery Merchandise Shoot on March 6. Practice will be held from 9:30-10 a.m., with the shooting to start at 10 a.m. All levels of shooters are welcome. Lunch will be available.

Diabetes Support Group meets at the Harney County Health Building, 420 North Fairview, the first Saturday of each month at 2 p.m.

ALANON meets each Saturday at 7 p.m. at Four Square Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

Harney County Chamber Music Society Choir meets the second and fourth Tuesday, September-November and January-March. The choir meets in the Burns High School band room, from 7 to 8:30 p.m., with Marianne Andrews directing. Singers ages 13-up are welcome.

Harney County Fair Board meets the second Tuesday of each month in the Hibbard Building at the Harney County Fairgrounds at 7 p.m.
