Family Day in the Park will be held at Washington Park on July 17 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. The event will feature “Maximum Fun for Minimum Cost.” The day will include children’s games, a horseshoe tournament, bingo parlor, food and lots of fun.

Farmers Market is held in Hines Park each Saturday, from 7:30 a.m. to 1  p.m. For more information, call 541-573-2251.

Masonic Lodge meets the first and third Monday of each month at the Burns Masonic Lodge, 1210 West Taylor, at 7 p.m.

Harney District Hospital will hold a free Physical Therapy Sports Injury Clinic on Monday evenings throughout July. Students experiencing muscle or joint pain due to sports activities will be seen by a physical therapist who will assess injuries and offer recommendations for treatment. High Desert Medical Center’s Dr. Holland Haynie will also be available. To take advantage of this free clinic, call 541-573-1543 to schedule a time to be seen.

Burns Fire Dept. meets each Monday at the Burns Fire Hall at 7 p.m.

The Hines Volunteer Fire Department meets at the Hines Fire Hall each Monday at 7 p.m. (except the last Monday of the month). Prospective members may contact Fire Chief Bob Spence at 541-573-7477 or 541-573-2251.

Narcotics Anonymous meets each Monday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

A Women’s AA meeting is held every Monday at noon at the Harney Behavioral Health Building.

The Burns Lions Club meets each Monday at noon at Figaro’s Pizza, for lunch. Those interested in serving the community are welcome.

Harney District Hospital is sponsoring a “Hydration Health” workshop on July 20 from 5 to 6 p.m. in the HDH board room. Learn how much you should be drinking, when to use sports drinks and how you’ll know if you’re hydrated during these hot summer months. The workshop will be hosted by Amy Dobson, Harney District Hospital Dietary Supervisor. For more information, call 541-573-8318.

Rimrock Recycling board meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month at 6 p.m. at 29903 Hotchkiss Lane.

The American Legion Harney County Post #63 meets at 63 West “C” Street on the third Tuesday of each month, at 7 p.m.

Harney Basin Writers meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Harney County Library, from 2 to 4 p.m. Writers of any age and writing style are encouraged to attend.

Harney County Library Foundation meets the third Tuesday of each month at 5:30 p.m.

Sylvia Rebekah Lodge meets the first and third Tuesday of each month at the I.O.O.F. Hall, 348 North Broadway, at 6:30 p.m.

Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance is held every Tuesday at the Harney County Senior Center. The beginner class is held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. The intermediate class is held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. All ages are welcome.

All 0 to 3-year-olds and their parents are welcome to attend play group at the Early Childhood Center at 655 W. Fillmore, weekly on Tuesdays at 10:30 a.m.

Patient Assist, Needy Med Program trained volunteers will be at the Harney County Senior Center each Tuesday, from 1-3 p.m. For any questions on Medicare A, B, C or D, or for appointments call the Senior Center at 541-573-6024.

Boy Scout Troop 440, sponsored by the Burns Lion’s Club, meets each Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the LDS Church in Hines. Boys ages 11-18 are welcome to join.

The Harney County Community Response Team (CRT) will hold its monthly meeting on Wednesday, July 7, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Community Center located at 484 N. Broadway. The CRT consists of anyone interested in what is going on in the county as it relates to business and industry. County, city and tribal leaders provide general information to the public regarding existing programs and recruitment efforts.

Make a splash at Harney County Library. The summer reading challenge continues with “Rattlesnake Dance” story and art project at 10:30 a.m.

Harney County Court meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Harney County Courthouse, 450 North Buena Vista, at 10 a.m.

Burns Butte Sportsmen’s Club holds Twilight Trap Practice every Wednesday through September. For more information, call Ralph Steelman at 541-573-2099.

Bring the babies to Lapsit Storytime at Harney County Library, each Wednesday at 10 a.m. Enjoy music, stories, rhymes and fingerplays especially for babies and toddlers.

Harney County Library will present author Jane Kirkpatrick at 6:30 p.m. July 8 for an entertaining and lively presentation followed by book signing. Books will be available for purchase.

An Old-Fashioned Downtown Customer Appreciation evening will be held on North Broadway in Burns on Thursday, July 8, from 4 to 6 p.m. There will be food, refreshments, drawings and many other booths for the public to enjoy.

Harney County Library will present a live music show at 9 a.m. on July 9 featuring  Victor Johnson. Johnson plays music that the entire family can enjoy. His music has appeared on national television, NPR and Nick Jr. and Parenting magazines. He has three Parents’ Choice Awards and appears on Putumayo Kids’ CD Folk Playground.

The annual Harney County Ranch Rodeo will be held on July 10 at the Harney County Fairgrounds.Twenty-five teams — including nine from Harney County — will compete in six events. Food and western vendors will be on site. The public is invited to attend.

Aspen Arborglyph Trees Dedication Ceremony will be held on Steens Mountain at Fish Lake Campground at 2 p.m. July 10.
