One Economy Corporation is hosting a series of public meetings (town halls) with local residents and community leaders in 20 different locations throughout Oregon. The town hall interactive format provides for direct community input ranging from how residents access and use the Internet to identifying the barriers to bringing Internet resources to their community. One of these events will be in Burns.The town hall in Burns will be held on Thursday, Oct. 7, at 6:30 p.m. at the Harney County Community Center, 484 N. Broadway in Burns, and is open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

Dr. Tom Fitzpatrick and the Mobile Health Clinic, sponsored by Harney District Hospital, will be in Drewsey and Crane on Thursday, Oct. 7.This is a full-service health clinic which comes to you. Appointments are encouraged to ensure adequate time, supplies and equipment for your appointment, but walk-ins are always welcome. Call High Desert Medical Center at 541-573-8605 to schedule an appointment, and bring your insurance information to assure proper billing.

Burns Butte Sportsmen’s Club meets the first Thursday of each month at the State Office Building, 809 West Jackson, at 7 p.m.

Chamber Music Bell Choir meets each Thursday at 6:30 p.m., at St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, 393 West A. Street. Bell ringers are being recruited. For information, call Carol Sawyer, 541-573-6886.

The 5th annual Wholistic Health Fair will be held at the Harney County Senior Center, 17 S. Alder, on Oct. 9, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The fair will feature numerous holistic and alternative approaches to healing that are available in Southeastern Oregon. Admission is free. Harney County Library will present a live music performance with Ko-Na Foster Kalama on Saturday, Oct. 9. This unique musical program will include Native American flutes accompanied by dancers and drummers. The performance is free and open to the public and will begin at 4 p.m.

The Harney County Radio Association meets every second Saturday of the month, at 10 a.m., in the basement meeting room of the Harney County Courthouse. All amateur radio operators and interested parties are welcome.

Harney County Chamber Music Society Choir meets the second and fourth Tuesday, September-November and January-March. The choir meets in the Burns High School band room, from 7-8:30 p.m., with Marianne Andrews directing. Singers ages 13-up are welcome.

Harney County Fair Board meets the second Tuesday of each month in the Hibbard Building at the Harney County Fairgrounds at 7 p.m.
