Christmas Jamboree and Christmas Parade will be held all day on N. Broadway, in Burns. Beginning with Breakfast with Santa, from 8-10 a.m. at the Burns Elks Lodge, continuing with activities throughout the day, and culminating at 6 p.m. with the Christmas Parade. The Harney County CattleWomen will hold their annual Christmas party and membership drive on Saturday, Dec. 11, at 3 p.m. at the home of Lori Peila. For more information or directions, call 541-589-1992.

The Harney County Radio Association meets every second Saturday of the month, at 10 a.m., in the basement meeting room of the Harney County Courthouse. All amateur radio operators and interested parties are welcome.

Alanon holds an open meeting each Saturday at Foursquare Church at 5:30 p.m.

The High Desert Fiddlers will have a holiday potluck/dance and jam on Sunday, Dec. 12, at the Harney County Senior Center. The potluck will begin at 1 p.m. and music will start at 2 p.m. The fiddlers will provide the turkey, bring your favorite holiday dish and come and listen to some good old time holiday music, and maybe kick up your heels a bit. Narcotics Anonymous meets each Monday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

A Women’s AA meeting is held every Monday at noon at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

The Burns Lions Club meets each Monday at noon at Figaro’s Pizza, for lunch. Those interested in serving the community are welcome.

The Dementia Support Group will meet on Tuesday, Dec.14, from 6 to 7 p.m. in The Aspens Conference Room. This group is for spouses, caregivers, family and loved ones of those with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease. Learn and share about dementia, managing symptoms and providing care. SHIBA volunteers will be available every Tuesday and Thursday at the Harney County Senior Center, through December, from 1-4 p.m., to help with Medicare D open enrollment. Those who have questions or need help with enrollment or to make plan comparisons are welcome to stop by. Appointments are preferred, but not necessary. For more information or to make an appointment, call 541-573-6024. Open enrollment for Medicare D ends on Dec. 31.

Harney County Chamber Music Society Choir meets the second and fourth Tuesday, September-November and January-March. The choir meets in the Burns High School band room, from 7-8:30 p.m., with Marianne Andrews directing. Singers ages 13-up are welcome.

Harney County Fair Board meets the second Tuesday of each month in the Hibbard Building at the Harney County Fairgrounds at 7 p.m.

The American Legion Auxiliary meets the second Tuesday of each month at 63 W. “C” Street, at 2 p.m.

The Burns/Hines District #3 Schools board of directors meets at the District Office, 550 North Court, the second Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Hines Common Council meets the second and fourth Tuesday of each month at Hines City Hall, 101 East Barnes, at 7 p.m.

Boy Scout Troop 440, sponsored by the Burns Lion’s Club, meets each Tuesday from 7-8:30 p.m. at the LDS Church in Hines. Boys ages 11-18 are welcome to join.

Wednesday, December 1

The combined November/December Health District Board meeting will be held Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. in the Board Conference Room of Harney District Hospital. This is a date change from the regularly scheduled Health District Board meeting, generally held the fourth Wednesday of each month.

The December Harney County Farm Bureau meeting has been moved up to Dec. 1, at 5 p.m., at Country Companies Office on N. Broadway Ave in Burns.

Harney County Court meets the first and third Wednesday of each month at the Harney County Courthouse, 450 North Buena Vista, at 10 a.m.

The Harney County Community Response Team (CRT) meets the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. in the Community Center located at 484 N. Broadway. The CRT consists of anyone interested in what is going on in the County as it relates to business and industry. County, city and tribal leaders provide general information to the public regarding existing programs and recruitment efforts.

Civil War — The Valley Golf Club will be hosting a “Ducks” vs. “Beavers” Bash on Saturday, Dec. 4.
