“A Bad Year for Tomatoes,” a comedy by John Patrick, will be presented Friday and Saturday, Aug. 17-18, and Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 25-26, in the former Lincoln School auditorium, 550 N. Court Ave. in Burns. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted. Profits will benefit future productions.

43rd Harney County Fair Demolition Derby will be held Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Harney County Fairgrounds. ATV Rodeo starts at 1 p.m. and the Derby begins at 6 p.m.

Farmer’s Market is held each Saturday throughout the summer from 7:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Hines Park.

Narcotics Anonymous meets each Saturday at 7 p.m. at Foursquare Church, 74 S. Alvord, Burns.

The Harney County Commission on Children and Families will hold its regular meeting Tuesday, Aug. 21, this month instead of Tuesday, Aug. 14, at Hines City Hall from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The American Legion Harney County Post #63 meets at 63 W. “C” Street the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.

Harney Basin Writers meets the first and third Tuesdays of each month at the Harney County Library from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Writers of any age and writing style are welcome to attend.

Harney County Watershed Council meets the third Tuesday of each month at the EOARC (Section 5) on Hwy. 205 in the conference room at 5:30 p.m.
